The reason that man has been so devoted to the smallest and most loving of all dog breeds is because that is the Chihuahua’s reason for being! Its destiny and it’s very function in life!
I cannot express this enough, the reason that Chihuahua’s are the way they are, their very nature, is because that is the way they have been bred over many generations and for hundreds of years , developing their devotion to mankind, and that means to you their owner.
While other dogs are bred and raised for a specific purpose for the needs of man, to say be hunting dogs, gun dogs, guard dogs, sheep or cattle dogs, dogs with exceptional sense of smell, dogs with exceptional speed, dogs with a great herding instinct, dogs having all of these admirable traits, which have been bred into them and is the reason they exist now.
This isn’t the reason for the Chihuahua’s existence, because they more than any other breed have been bred and raised to exist solely to receive and impart love to the special human in their life.
So they are bred to be loved and doted on and adored, they in turn will return to you their owner, all of this affection and more. They will make your life so much better. They are the one dog that loves to be loved and needs to be the centre of your attention! They are ‘lap dogs’, they are created so that you can love them. Their breeding for so many generations is for this very reason.
What better endorsement of the loving nature of the breed to hear from so many people who have taken to this very special little dog. It is the smallest of all known dog breeds, you will hear how well adored this little dog is, all over the world.
All of the high profile ‘celebrities’ who have chosen this as their perfect little pooch, from Paris Hilton, who is spoiled, rich and very feminine. To the opposite, macho movie tough guy Mickey Rourke, who absolutely dotes on his three or four pet Chihuahua’s. The popularity of these dogs is phenomenal.
Their popularity is with good reason.
They are easily accommodated even in a small apartment of flat, they do not need hours of exercise, they will not eat you out of house and home and they can be house trained almost like a cat if so desired. They are very portable and can sit in a carry bag easily.
They are very intelligent dogs with alert and responsive reactions to humans, they will very soon adopt YOU as a pet and once they do, you will be theirs for life!
Although they are tiny, they do not let that stand in the way of their protective instincts, the problem sometimes is that they occasionally forget their size limitations. They have very good hearing and they are excellent guard dogs in that they soon give warning of strangers in the vicinity.
As a pet’s owner, I have never had, such devotion and affection and after raising my own kids it’s almost like having kids again, (if that’s what turns you on) because they will thrive on your affection and devotion.
The Chihuahua has the very look and feel of a baby and the reason that they do is the reason for their existence, they were created by man to be a lap dog and if this aspect of having a dog doesn’t suit you then don’t consider this pet, but on the other hand if unlimited love and affection in return for your love and attention, is your thing, then you will have the most wonderful canine friend, in my opinion, in the world!
